Land in Montvale, VA

Remarks

180± Acres | Bedford County, VA — A Private Mountain Tract That Feels Untouched by Time Some properties are bought. Others are experienced. This 180± acre tract on Porters Mountain offers a rare sense of seclusion and natural character that is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Walking the property, the land reveals itself slowly — well-worn wildlife trails, mature hardwoods, and a landscape that feels largely undisturbed for decades. The timber is substantial, with towering oaks and poplar — trees so large you can't wrap your arms around them — creating a dense, quiet canopy that suggests this land has seen little to no harvest in generations. Standing timber represents significant additional value for the right buyer. Wildlife is abundant throughout, with consistent sign of deer, turkey, bear, and other native species — indicators of a healthy, established habitat. Bedford County is home to two of Virginia's most iconic record-book bucks, and the genetics in this region are the real deal. The terrain is a mix of rolling ridges and wooded slopes, with existing ATV trails providing access and two natural locations well-suited for a future cabin or retreat. Power is available at the entrance, offering a starting point for future use while preserving the property's private, off-the-grid feel. Held by the same family since 1852, this is more than just acreage — it is a mountain property defined by privacy, scale, and a sense of place. Tax Map 103-A-52 & 103-A-53 · Bedford County, Virginia.
